Join education leaders in voting YES for the Mesquite ISD bond referendum.

“On May 3, you will have an opportunity to have a part in helping MISD maintain a quality education for our students. The district is asking approval for $600 million in bonds to provide greater safety and security for students, to help with addressing growth on multiple campuses, and to update facilities and equipment.

I had the opportunity to work in Mesquite ISD for 38 years. During my time and still today, the emphasis is always on doing what is best for students. Our students deserve the best education we can provide them. Since my time in MISD, a lot has changed in education, but one thing has not changed is that quality education is the best means to help provide a good quality of life for our students.  Let’s do our part and vote for the May 3 Bond issue.”

Dr. James Terry
Former Superintendent Mesquite ISD

“It was my privilege to serve Mesquite ISD for 43 years in positions ranging from teacher at MHS to superintendent the last ten years of my career. In this time of rapid technological change and rapidly escalating costs of equipment and facilities, it is without hesitation that I endorse the upcoming bond election for Mesquite ISD.

This election is about improving teaching and learning through improved facilities, updating technology at campuses across the district, and enhancing security equipment and structures to make campuses safer. The Pre-K Center in the Horn area will provide new, exciting instructional opportunities for young children while relieving crowding on area elementary campuses.

All students will benefit in some manner through this bond program – whether by attending a remodeled facility, by using updated technology to solve problems and extend learning, or by attending a school with heightened security systems. When a community invests in the education of its students, it invests in its future.

I hope you will vote in support of this Bond Election for 2025.”

"To compete with other cities for high-paying jobs and economic growth, we must maintain a well-educated workforce. This starts with providing our students and educators with the support, facilities, and tools they need to excel in every classroom in every part of Mesquite ISD. If you love our community as much as my family does and want to see our city prosper for the next generation, please join me in voting YES for the Mesquite ISD bond referendum. It's a smart, fiscally responsible plan to prepare today's students for tomorrow's job market."
